Victoria police are asking people to be vigilant after a second woman was sexually assaulted at a bus stop on Douglas Street last week.

On Thursday, Feb. 9, the victim was waiting at a bus stop in the 1700-block of Douglas Street around 10 p.m. when an unknown man approached her and sat next to her.

The two began a conversation and just prior to the bus leaving, the man sexually assaulted the victim.

Police are also searching for a witness who was driving a clean white truck and was in the area at the time, who may have seen the assault.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, between 25 and 35 years old, and roughly six-feet-tall. He was wearing a dark hoody pulled over his head, and had a big nose with a dark mole or mark on the right side of his face.

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, another woman was sexually assaulted while waiting at a bus stop on the west side of the 1400-block on Douglas Street as well. The victim was approached by a man, who spoke to her and sat down next to her. He sexually assaulted her prior to her boarding the bus.

It is too early for police to confirm if the incidents are related.

Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency line at 250-995-7654.
