A truck slammed into a light standard on Blanshard Street early Monday morning, sending one man to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. north of Bay Street, and the vehicle continued to travel north for about 50 metres before coming to a stop.

Neither speed nor alcohol were a factor in the crash, said VicPD spokesman Bowen Osoko.

“Early investigation indicates a medical cause,” he said.
