Speeding driver busted after crack cocaine spotted on passenger seat

The drugs, which were sitting on the passenger seat in plain view, are estimated to be worth a few hundred dollars.

A driver was arrested after he left a bag of crack cocaine on his passenger seat during an otherwise routine traffic stop.

The black Honda Accord was stopped around 10:30 p.m. Monday night after an officer decided the vehicle was being driven too fast for the road conditions at the time.

When the driver was asked for his licence, the officer noticed a bag containing 17 individually packaged bags of crack cocaine. The drugs, which were sitting on the passenger seat in plain view, are estimated to be worth a few hundred dollars.

The driver, a 31-year-old Saanich man, was arrested. Charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking are being recommended.
