Stranded kite boarder rescued off Clover Point

The man, who described himself as an experienced kiter, was left 500 metres from shore

A 42-year-old man was saved by Victoria Fire Rescue last Friday after an equipment malfunction left him stranded off Clover Point.

The man, who described himself as an experienced kiter, was left 500 metres from shore when the lines from his kite tangled around his ankle. Responding to a 911 call, VFD spent nearly 15 minutes untangling the line.

The man was uninjured.
