Street-level dealers nabbed in drug raid

A pair of drug dealers were taken off the market last week.

Victoria police officers raided an apartment in the 1400-block of Hillside Avenue Friday afternoon.

Inside, they found a half-kilogram of cocaine worth $28,000 on the streets, $11,000 cash, scales and other trafficking equipment.

A 25-year-old Esquimalt man and a 24-year-old Victoria woman were arrested by emergency response and strike force officers. VicPD will recommend trafficking charges.

Police say they watched the pair conduct drug deals in Esquimalt and downtown Victoria for three days before the arrests.
