Mustard Seed Food Bank is hoping to receive a busload of food to help feed some of the region’s neediest people in the coming months.

The goal of Friday, June 21, 12-hour Stuff the Bus event at Tillicum Centre is to fill a B.C. Transit bus to the brim with food, toiletries and cash donations.

“We are heading into a challenging time of the year for the most vulnerable populations in Greater Victoria who rely on food banks,” said Mustard Seed director Brent Palmer. “During the summer months, school lunch programs are no longer available to the 1,700 children who are fed every month.”

Stuff the Bus runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Tillicum Centre Safeway (3170 Tillicum Rd.).
