Teens caught breaking in to ballpark

One teen caught with double-edged fighting knife

Three teens with almost 300 combined run-ins with police and nearly 85 charges recommended against them were arrested Friday night on suspicion of trying to break in to Lampson Little League Park.

At 9 p.m. a witness called police about people pulling at the ballpark’s chain-link fence around the concession stand.

When officers arrived, they found two 17-year-old and one 16-year-old boys, all from Victoria. Two had outstanding warrants for their arrests.

The youngest, having lied about his identity and been found carrying a double-edged fighting knife, had charges of obstruction, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon filed against him.

Police did not forward charges for the attempted break-in. There was no damage.
