A single-vehicle collision that took place on the Malahat resulted in the closure of the southbound lanes between Finlayson Arm Road and Westshore Parkway for several hours on Aug. 1.

The incident took place around 1 p.m. on Saturday and, according to DriveBC, traffic was impacted in the area near Langford and Goldstream Provincial Park until crews cleared the scene just before 5 p.m.

In a social media post at 1:30 p.m., West Shore RCMP said officers were investigating and one driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Traffic in the area was reduced to one lane alternating directions as crews worked to reopen the highway.
