Two more targeted by bus-stop masturbator

Suspect has targeted 15 women in Greater Victoria

The bus-stop masturbator has now targeted 15 women in three months.

Victoria police reported Tuesday that two more women were targeted by the bus-stop masturbator. Both instances happened last Sunday.

Just before noon, the suspect masturbated in front of a 23-year-old Asian woman in the 700-block of Broughton Street – not at a bus stop. She walked away, but he caught up with her again before she ran away.

Fifteen minutes later, a 22-year-old Asian woman waiting for a bus inside the Royal Bank at Douglas and Fort streets saw a man of the same description masturbating in front of her, through the glass window.

He left, but the woman saw him again across the street near Chapters. He yelled and tried to take a picture with her cellphone, but they didn’t turn out.

These are the eighth and ninth such incidents in Victoria with the same suspect description. Across the region, there have been 15 cases since January. All but one victim was of Asian descent.

The suspect has touched one woman to prevent her from running away, and has blocked women inside bus stops while masturbating. He asked one victim to touch his genitals.

In each case, the suspect is described as white, between the ages of 20 and 35, about 6’0 tall and weighing 200 pounds, with a medium build and short brown hair.

At the time of the most recent incident he was wearing a black baseball cap, baggy blue

jeans, and a dark blue zip-up jacket and dark hoodie. He has facial stubble.

Any witnesses to these events should call Det. Kevin Lastiwka at 250-995-7234 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
