Two teens in hospital after pair of crashes

Girls running across busy roads were hit

Two teenage girls were hit by cars in separate incidents Monday night. Both ended up in hospital.

The first happened on Blanshard Street near Uptown Shopping Centre at 5:22 p.m. A teen ran across the street and was hit just before she reached the far curb.

Then, at 11:30 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was struck on Douglas Street near Hillside Avenue when she tried to run across the road. The girl’s leg and arm were broken, along with other injuries. She was in serious condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

The drivers in both incidents co-operated with police and charges aren’t being considered.
