Underwater Telus line relocation begins

One of the first steps in making way construction of new Johnson Street bridge

A crew of 20 started the work of moving an underwater Telus line carrying signals for Victoria West, Esquimalt and the Department of National Defence this week.

The four-month job, led by Ruskin Construction Ltd., is required to make way for the construction of the new Johnson Street Bridge.

There are no immediate traffic impacts expected.

Come mid-February, the company will remove the rail portion of the current bridge.
