UPDATE: Body found in Highlands, identified

The body of an adult male was found at a home in the 1500-block of Millstream Rd., Monday evening (May 28).

The body found at a home on the 1500 block of Millstream Road, has been identified as 55-year old Douglas Jones.

His was found on his property, outdoors shortly after 7:20 p.m., May 28, when his neighbours hadn’t seen in while and went to check on him.

“This is not a suspicious death at all,” said Matt Brown, Vancouver Island regional coroner of B.C. Coroner Service. “Foul play was ruled out by police.”

The body had been outside for several days, and identification was made through dental records and matching up circumstantial evidence.

A preliminary autopsy was performed but, the case is still requires further examination and a final report can be expected within three months.
