This masked man robbed the CIBC bank at gunpoint last Saturday.

Oak Bay and Saanich police are looking for a man who robbed the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce on Oak Bay Avenue Saturday afternoon.

The suspect entered the bank at about 2 p.m. and waited for it to be clear of customers before he approached the tellers. He then produced a firearm and demanded cash. He left on foot, alone, with an undisclosed amount of money. The bank tellers were upset, but not injured during the robbery.

The man is Caucasian, between the ages of 25 and 30, approximately 5-foot-11  to 6 feet tall with a medium build. Police say he was wearing a light coloured hoodie, jeans and had material covering his face.

Saanich Police forensics and major crime detectives are investigating. Saanich police have a memorandum of understanding to aid Oak Bay police in investigating “high profile” cases.

Anyone with information is asked to call Saanich police detectives at 250-475-4371 or 250-475-4384, or Crime Stoppers at 250-386-8477.
