A team of officers arrested a wanted man Friday afternoon.

Community Services Division officers, working with Strike Force (SF) and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team arrested Dallis Briet on Oct. 16, according to a Victoria Police Department news release.

Briet was the subject of a wanted man alert as he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for parole revocation.

Late this afternoon members of CSD, SF, and GVERT successfully located and arrested Briet. He remains in custody.

On Oct. 14, VicPD sought public help in locating Briet, 44, on a Canada-wide warrant after his parole was revoked.

Local officers spotted Briet breaching his conditions, which include prohibition from being in or driving a vehicle. When they attempted to arrest him on the afternoon of Oct. 14, he evaded officers. The officers did not pursue him to reduce the risk to nearby bystanders.

Briet’s past convictions and arrests include driving-related offences, possession of stolen property, break and enter and breaching conditions.

Briet was associated with a seafoam green four-door 2005 Nissan Altima that VicPD reported finding on Oct. 15.
