UPDATE: Suspect identified after restaurant patron punched

Altercation involving a chair leaves patron with facial injuries

The suspect sought in connection to a March 13 restaurant incident has been identified.

The Victoria Police Department asked the public for help identifying the man in a March 17 release and is continuing its investigation after a restaurant patron was assaulted and staff were verbally abused.

Staff at a restaurant near Bastion Square stopped serving a man after he started showing signs of impairment on March 13, according to the initial police statement. Staff reported the man had become verbally abusive and when a patron approached the man, he was threatened with a chair. A second patron took the chair away but the first patron was punched in the face during the incident. The patron suffered non-life-threatening facial and dental injuries.
