Victoria Police look for clues in Fisherman's Wharf fight

One man in hospital, another in custody after incident Friday night

One man is in hospital with serious facial injuries and another in jail following an altercation at Fisherman’s Wharf Thursday night.

The Victoria Police Department responded around 9:30 p.m. to a 911 call from a man who said his friend had been attacked at the wharf in James Bay.

Police found a 22-year-old man bleeding from serious facial injuries and he was soon transported to hospital, where he remains today.

A short distance away, VicPD officers arrested a 27-year-old Victoria man with blood on his clothing. The suspect is a resident of the area, said Const. Mike Russell.

The two men know one another, but police are looking for witnesses to the altercation.
