Victoria police search for victim of Gorge Road East assault

Man in his 20s fled before VicPD arrived, while suspects found hiding in bushes in Feb. 21 assault report

The Victoria Police Department is looking for a man who witnesses say was assaulted near the intersection of Gorge Road East and Washington Avenue last Friday night.

Around 11 p.m., VicPD officers arrived at the scene to find several men hiding in bushes.

"Witness stated that the group had dispersed and the victim had also taken off," said Const. Mike Russell.

"Officers now need to speak to the victim to further the investigation and ensure he did not suffer any injuries."

The victim is described as a black male in his 20s. He was wearing a blue and green button-up shirt with tan khaki-styled pants.
