West Shore RCMP is investigating stolen strollers on the West Shore.

Police said two separate thefts of strollers took place in the last week in Langford and View Royal.

Police received a report from a parent of a theft of a black Thule Urban Glide 2 stroller. It was worth upwards of $850 and was taken sometime during the evening of Feb. 22 from a patio on Whirlaway Crescent in Langford.

“While we don’t know if these two thefts are related, we view these thefts as a crime of opportunity,” said Const. Nancy Saggar of West Shore RCMP. “We would like to remind parents and caregivers to store their strollers in a secure place as you would with any other high priced item. With the high cost of these items there is a growing market for second hand purchases and it’s important to prevent stolen items from entering this market.”

Anyone with information is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
