It is with great sadness, the family of Jessie McAllister announce her passing on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 at the age of 93.

Jessie was born in Rusylvia, Alberta, second oldest of seven. The family moved to Victoria, BC in 1937. Jessie and older sister Olivia quit school at age 13 to help support the family.

She never returned to school. Later on she married in 1944 and worked alongside husband "Mac" at several businesses in Victoria, Mill Bay, Clinton, Oliver and Penticton. She retired at age 46 and enjoyed many winters in Arizona and summers in Penticton.

She is survived by her three children; Bonnie, Robert (Gail), Linda and one step daughter-in-law Josie; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 25 great, great grandchildren. Two sisters (Edna and Vickie), two brothers (Alex and Eric) and one brother-in-law (Nick); many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband William (Mac) of 43 years, step-son (Frank), son-in-law (Danny), two sisters (Olivia and Dorothy), two sisters-in-law (Peggy and Jocelyn) and three brothers-in-law (Norm, Doug and Herm).

Her loss will be mourned by many, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A special thank you to all the staff at the WMS Lake Seniors Village Nursing Home. They were unbelievable and truly cared for Jessie in the past 9 years.

As requested there will be no service. Jessies ashes will be placed at the Lakeview Cemetery in Kelowna and a memorial tea will take place later in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society or a charity of your choice.
