25 dead deer won’t make a difference in the herd

The SPCA and many other groups oppose this slaughter, especially the extremely inhumane way it will be carried out.

Absolutely disgusted!

Those are the only two words I can use to express my feelings towards the mayor and council of Oak Bay in their decision to go ahead with the deer cull.

The mayor says the majority of Oak Bay residents seem to be in favour.  I’d like to see where he gets those numbers.

All it does is cater to the NIMBYs in this community. The SPCA and many other groups oppose this slaughter, especially the extremely inhumane way it will be carried out.

And actually believing that removing 25 deer will thin the herd? Others will take their place.

This whole mess and these attitudes remind me so much of the rabbit situation at the university where calmer heads did not prevail.
