Awareness-raising not related to self-promotion

Kevin Neish, activism, Gaza flotilla

Re: Neish suspected of ulterior motives (Letters, June 29)

The letter writer is apparently not aware that Kevin Neish has been doing human rights work in Colombia, Cuba, Mexico and around the world since the 1960s.

He is accompanying the flotilla to Gaza as a human rights observer. He has never sought publicity for himself, but in this case, he has given interviews to raise awareness and hopefully provide some protection against Israeli aggression on the high seas.

Frankly, I was shocked that Victoria News would publish such a letter.
