The hypocrisy of the arrogant Stephen Harper never ceases to amaze me.
He must expect us all to suffer from amnesia and forget that in 2004, he tried to form a coalition with the NDP and the Bloc Québecois to replace the then Liberal government without the benefit of an election.
The reason we are having this election and had the last on is because Harper is not willing to work with whomever the public gives him. Furthermore, he claims we should be more concerned about a majority government committing us to wars and so-called security partnerships, and licking the U.S. president’s boots each chance they get.
We in B.C. should see through his hopes for a majority conservative government.
In 10 years of a disastrous Liberal majority at the provincial level, they have not listened to the people on key issues, such as class size, and have bailed out their friends on legal fees to the tune of $6 million while seeing our homeless population boom.
There was a Liberal-NDP coalition in Ontario for two years in the 1980s and it was a great government simple because David Peterson chose to work with what the public gave him. Also during the ’80s Saskatchewan’s economy was driven into the ground by two consecutive Conservative majorities, led by Grant Devine, and it was an NDP government that got the province’s books back in order.
