Elizabeth May is amazing! I emailed her three days ago to ask for her support in trying to obtain landed Immigrant status for a wonderful Phillipino woman who works as a caregiver to my brother, a retired doctor who has crippling arthritis.
On her two days “off” caring for him, she works for the Vancouver Island Health Authority. She has another job in the evenings as well.
Although she wasn’t expected to pay income tax, she did, to prove her good intentions as a prospective Canadian citizen.
May’s Sidney Green Party contituency office notified me that the care giver had been called by the Immigration office in Ottawa to obtain further details, so it looks hopeful for her.
She was absolutely bowled over by that phone call.
I can’t thank Elizabeth May enough forher amazingly prompt attention to my request. She had my vote last time, and she’ll certainly have it this time.
