Esquimalt policing report ‘secrecy’ irks resident

Township's suggestions to province on policing model should be public information

Esquimalt council should immediately release the policing report it submitted to the provincial government months ago. Citizens have a right to know the report’s findings before the municipal election in November. We deserve to know the likely direction for policing in our municipality and the positions of each candidate before we vote.

This review process has dragged on for far too long and the uncertainty is damaging to the community. There’s no good reason for secrecy around this process.
