LETTER: We have become an elitist society

Our society's elite may do unto others as they wish

When I was young and carefree I believed that I lived in a democracy and had civil rights.

Today, I am older and much wiser with experience. I know that the police can pluck a law abiding citizen off the street on some pretext and do with him as they will.

I know that there is a farce called the police complaint commission.

I know that lawyers, even the top civil rights lawyers will brush you off if they don’t see a good profit to be made.

We have become an elitist society, based on material wealth. Money is power.

The Golden Rule “do unto others as you will have them do unto you” applies only to the “lower classes”.

The elite may do unto others as they will.
