Polarizing letter writers

I just love to read your many radical letters about what the federal and provincial governments are not doing for the people

I just love to read your many radical letters about what the federal and provincial governments are not doing for the people.

The letter appearing in your May 14 Peninsula News Review is another fine example. Let’s see ...  20 per cent of B.C. students don’t graduate from high school. What can we do? How about dumping gobs of funding into a questionable system where the desired outcome (from the teachers’ union viewpoint) is to gain the desired ratio of one teacher per student.

There’s another possible solution: why don’t we just grant more undeserved high school diplomas to further dilute our educational ranking on the world scale? No wonder Christy Clark wants to avoid the Island. (I’m not a Liberal or Conservative supporter, just a tax payer!)

I’m really pleased to see so many of these letters: it simply hardens more of those among us to reactionary thinking. It almost seems as if we have a locus of anarchy here; no wonder we don’t get a lot of federal and provincial funding.
