With due diligence and at great cost, we have the spectacle of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS – and dying of tuberculosis.
TB is one of the leading killers of people with HIV. It is cheap to cure TB. To completely cure a case of TB costs about the same as nine days of treatment for HIV/AIDS.
Yet, we don’t do it. According to WHO, only four per cent of HIV patients are screened for tuberculosis.
Please contact your MP and say that we need to completely tie AIDS funding with tuberculosis funding, at all levels, or we are just wasting our money and senselessly killing many of the people we are trying to save.
