As an aside to this article, there’s a beautiful cedar hedge a hundred or so meters south of that site. It wraps around the east end of the airport runway on Sterling Way west of the highway, creating a nice visual barrier. And every spring when the Town of Sidney Parks Dept. staff and arborists prune it back into shape, it catches my eye again.
They do such a great job maintaining the smooth curve and pleasing shape.
I’m sure that the Gateway project is in good hands in Mayor Cross’s and council’s hands.
