Canadian freestyle skier Hendrickson wins gold at slopestyle World Cup

Mark Hendrickson earned a score of 86.30 on his first run

Canada’s Mark Hendrickson won the gold medal on Saturday at a ski slopestyle World Cup.

Hendrickson, a 21-year-old from Calgary, earned a score of 86.30 on his first run en route to claiming his first World Cup medal.

Jesper Tjader of Sweden took silver with 85.70 points and American Cody Laplante won bronze with 83.45.

Elena Gaskell was the top Canadian finisher on the women’s side in eighth place.
