Cougars to face Wolves in second round of playoffs

The Victoria Cougars will meet the Westshore Wolves in the second round of Vancouver island Junior Hockey League playoffs

The Victoria Cougars will host the Westshore Wolves in Game 1 of their Vancouver Island Junior Hockey league. IJHL South Island Division Final Thursday night.

The Wolves moved on to this series after defeating the Saanich Braves Friday night at Pearkes Recreation Centre. It took double overtime for the fourth game in a row for the Wolves to come away with a 4-2 series win against the Saanich Braves.

All four overtime games were come from behind wins for the respective teams.

The winning goal came at 14:43 of the second overtime period when James Severs scored his second of the game with an assist from Quentin McShane to clinch the series.

Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.
