Dodgeball coming to Victoria’s Royal Athletic Park

Team signups for annual dodgeball tournament underway

Registration is now open for the ninth annual Victoria Dodgeball Championships, the largest tournament of its kind in Canada.

The tournament, open to everyone 19 and older, pits teams of six to 12 dodgeballers against each other in competitive and recreational divisions.

The championships will be held at Royal Athletic Park on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Registration is open until Friday, Aug. 16, with a cost of $30 per team. Teams must have a minimum of two male and two female players on the court to start each game.

There are prizes for best costumes.

Participants will be invited to stay for a live all-ages concert in the park following the tournaments, featuring Carmanah and High Noon to Midnight.
