Hurricane fight league goes Friday

Victoria’s Hurricane Fight League might be a small-scale organization but it boasts high calibre athletes. Tonight (May 11) is the promotion’s sixth event, 7 p.m. at the Da Vinci Centre (195 Bay St.)

The goal of the event is to provide a family friendly, alcohol-free environment to foster the careers of budding kickboxing, boxing and mixed martial arts competitors, said spokesperson Aaron Varga.

“We want to promote the sport of these (different) styles,” he said.
