JUNIOR B: Braves lose opener despite scoring seven; Peninsula look to sweep Friday night

Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League playoffs underway

James Kellington picked up five points and the Saanich Braves scored seven goals but fell to the Comox Valley Glaciers 8-7 on Wednesday night. Comox's barn-burning win puts them up 1-0 in their best-of-five playoff series.

Round one of the VIJHL playoffs started Monday with a 7-3 win by the Peninsula Panthers over the Campbell River Storm. Joe Densmore had a hat trick. 

Peninsula won game 2 of the series 3-2 on Tuesday, taking a 2-0 lead in the series. 

Kerry Park lead Oceanside 2-0 in the other VIJHL series. 

The Panthers can sweep with a win Friday night (Feb. 25). at Panorama Rec. Centre, 7:30 p.m.

Saanich host Comox Valley at Pearkes arena at 6:30 p.m.
