Oak Bay run ahead at track and field Lower Island championships

Liam Kennell broke the 1,500-metre record at the 2012 Lower Island Track and Field championships

Liam Kennell left the pack behind as he broke the 1,500-metre record at UVic’s Centennial Stadium, a standout effort from the 2012 Lower Island Track and Field championships on May 9.

The 16-year-old is part of the powerhouse Oak Bay High team which is trying to continue its dominant run as the top track and field school team in B.C.

The Island championships are next week, May 16 and 17 at UVic.
