The Saanich Braves Pee Wee AA hockey team took home the gold from the Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association's Spring Break Ice Jam tournament March 18 to 21 with a record of five wins and one tie.
The Braves finished in first in their tier following round-robin play, then earned an 8-0 win over Semihamoo in the semi-final. In the gold-medal final against the host Coquitlam Chiefs, the Braves worked hard to secure a tight 2-1 victory, with outstanding performances by all players, led by head coach Blaine Redmond and Assistant Coach Mike Cox.
