The Victoria junior Shamrocks edged the Nanaimo Timbermen 11-7 in a preseason B.C. Junior Lacrosse League game on Wednesday night.
The two teams met half way, playing the game at Fuller Lake Arena.
Leading the way for the Shamrocks were Dominik Pesek with three goals and one assist and Jake Cullen with three goals. Devan Casey scored two goals and two assists. Cole Pickup, Kurtis Green and Nate Wade, each scored once. Chris Wardle had three helpers.
Scoring for Nanaimo were Corey Shires with three goals and an assist, Brady Jorgensen with one goal and two assists, and singles from Brett Fleming, Mitch Parker and Brett Hawrys.
The Shamrocks regular season opens April 27 against the New Westminster Salmon Bellies at Bear Mountain Arena.
