Shamrocks start playoffs with home-turf advantage

First round of local senior lacrosse playoffs starts Friday at Bear Mountain Arena

The Victoria Shamrocks finished the season with a win over last-place Nanaimo Friday at Bear Mountain Arena.

They finished second in Western Lacrosse Association league play with the decisive 18-4 win and scored home-turf advantage for playoffs which start July 31 at Bear Mountain Arena.

The Senior A box lacrosse team reports more than 2,200 fans came for the final season home game, tailgate party and autograph session.

They face the Burnaby Lakers in round one of post-season. The first playoff game starts at 7:45 p.m.
