The Victoria Highlanders kicked off their 2014 Premier Development Soccer League season Sunday at Royal Athletic Park, earning their first victory of the year in a nail-biter that ended with veteran Riley O’Neill posting the winning goal off a penalty kick in extra time in a 3-2 victory.
Cody Cook and Ali Musse netted goals for the Whitecaps, while Carlo Basso, Wesley Barrett and O’Neill answered for Victoria.
