The next time someone tells you to go fly a kite, make sure it doesn’t go too high.

Police in Greater Victoria were called to Esquimalt Tuesday afternoon after a high-flying kite began causing problems for air traffic in the Inner Harbour.

Officers were dispatched to the area and officials estimate the kite was roughly 1,000 feet in the air and causing air traffic to be re-routed.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and have not said if any charges will be filed.
