Eight-foot flames seen in two downtown Victoria business fire: police

Police are also asking any residents who were in the area at the time to submit dashcam footage

Police are searching for witnesses of two Victoria store fires that were lit inside the businesses on the night of Sept. 30.

Just after 8:30 p.m., police responded to the 1800-block of Store Street after eight-foot flames were reported to be seen coming from the storefronts.

According to VicPD, staff members of the businesses were able to quell the fire using extinguishers, but were later notified about an additional smaller fire inside the store that was extinguished by a customer.

Officers are seeking to locate the two women who had been in the store at the time of the fire who are being considered suspects. They are also searching for anyone who was in the area at the time the fire took place, or any additional information, CCTV, or dashcam footage that could provide further context.
