Annual marine garage sale kicks off at Ogden Point

Fourteenth annual sale attracts bargain hunters, boating enthusiasts

A fundraiser in support of the Maritime Museum of B.C. kicks off this weekend.

The 14th annual Massive Marine Garage Sale takes place this Saturday, April 22 at Ogden Point. The event provides an opportunity to recycle and reuse marine-related items, and has attracted many bargain hunters and boating enthusiasts in the past.

This year, the Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society will also be on hand to demonstrate their remote controlled model boats.

“This is a great opportunity for local residents to support the ongoing work of the Maritime Museum of B.C.,” said David Leverton, the museum’s executive director in a release.

The Massive Marine Garage Sale takes place at Pier A from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parking is free and admission is $5. Funds raised will help the museum develop exhibits and deliver public programs.
