The parliament buildings are set to shine bright for the holiday season, as the province preps for the 39th annual Christmas Lights Across Canada celebration.
Thursday evening, the sequoia tree situated on the front lawn will be lit up as musical performances by the Victoria Children’s Choir ring out during the festivities.
Reynolds Secondary School Carol Band is also set to perform indoors, where guests can snack on seasonal treats.
Christmas Lights Across Canada was introduced in 1985 and features monuments and sites in provincial and territorial capitals throughout Canada coming together to celebrate the holiday season.
Spencer Chandra Herbert the deputy speaker of the Legislative Assembly, and MLA for Vancouver-West End and Grace Lore, Minister of State for Child Care and MLA for Victoria-Beacon Hill will be in attendance.
The holiday magic gets underway at 6 p.m.on Dec. 7 at 501 Belleville Street in Victoria.
