Esquimalt Town Square will be bursting with colour this weekend with a public exhibition of chalk art.

Local multidisciplinary artist Scott Gillies will be joined by Jesse Campbell, Teresa Waclawik and Lydia Beauregard at Township Community Arts Council Chalk Party Saturday and Sunday (July 15 and 16) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Esquimalt Town Square, 1235 Esquimalt Rd.

The free event features 3D chalk drawings, live music from Kurt Loewen (Saturday 2-4 p.m.) and Lance Carr (Sunday 2-4 p.m.), and a kids’ chalk zone.

Last year’s Chalk Party filled Saxe Point with colourful art and attracted more than 60 kids as part of parks and rec summer programs.
