Residents are invited to try out the new playground, fenced dog park and skate park at Vic West Park this Saturday (June 10).

In celebration of the recent park improvements, the City of Victoria is hosting a free, family-friendly day of activities, including an inflatable slide, an art zone, an open house at the Victoria West Lawn Bowling Club, as well as serving up free ice cream, from noon to 2 p.m. The VeeDub Skate Competition runs at the skate park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In 2015, the City asked residents what improvements they would like to see and feedback included a new playground with play features for younger children and kids age five to 12, a fully fenced off-leash dog area, and upgrades to the skate park. For more information on the celebrations visit
