Embrace the magic of the holiday season with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra. Whether you prefer a lighted-hearted, merry and bright holiday or a more traditional celebration, there’s truly something for everyone at the symphony’s holiday performances.

“Our holiday performances have become annual traditions for many Island families and offer wonderful, multi-generational entertainment for all ages to enjoy,” says Maya Lohcham, Director of Marketing and Communications.

“Each performance offers its own unique holiday flare, from our more light-hearted, fun Christmas Pops performance to our soulful, traditional Handel’s Messiah to our New Year’s Day event – offering the unique opportunity to see three of Victoria’s most well-known and respected art institutions performing together on one stage to kickstart the New Year with a fun, elevated performance.”

  • Jens Lindermann – Christmas Pops: Join Canadian trumpet virtuoso Jens Lindemann and the Victoria Symphony on Dec. 9 and 10 for a sparkling, brassy performance that captures the joy and energy of the holidays. Find more information and tickets online here.
  • Handel’s Messiah: With this Christmas staple, on stage Dec. 15 and 17, dramatic choruses and sublime solos unite in this beloved musical that inspires audiences of all ages year after year. Find more information and tickets online here.
  • Ken Lavigne – We Need a Little Christmas: Catch show tunes and popular holiday classics with the charming tenor Dec. 16 and 18. Well-known for his exciting blend of classical vocals and modern style this is one performance that’s sure to have everyone leaving in ‘holly, jolly’ spirits.
  • New Year’s Day Celebration: Join members from the Victoria Symphony, Pacific Opera Victoria Chorus and Ballet Victoria for a truly joyous New Year’s Day celebration. Starting at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 1, Victoria Symphony and their special guests will welcome audiences with a delightful musical celebration to ring in the New Year in style. Get tickets here.

“We’re very excited to bring Ken Lavigne’sWe Need a Little Christmas to the West Shore at Royal Roads University’s Dogwood Auditorium on Dec. 18 this year! This concert marks our first in the West Shore community” Lohcham says, encouraging early ticket purchases as Lavigne’s performances sell-out quickly.

Holiday Brunch and Christmas Pops Rehearsal Fundraiser

Support the education programs that help build Victoria Symphony’s budding musicians and future stars on Dec. 9 at their annual Holiday Brunch and Christmas Pops Rehearsal Fundraiser!

“Our holiday fundraiser is a fun and unique experience for music lovers and it supports our Youth Education Programs,” Lohcham says. “Attendees get to take in the dress rehearsal of our Christmas Pops performance, then enjoy a delicious gourmet brunch, sparkling wine, a raffle, holiday carols and more.”
