The City of Victoria is looking for 12 volunteers to help the community decide how to spend $60,000 of the 2017 budget.

The City of Victoria is looking for 12 volunteers to help the community decide how to spend $60,000 of the 2017 budget, as part of a pilot budgeting project.

The volunteer committee will develop and oversee the process to engage the community in allocating the funding, and ensure the process is fair, transparent and inclusive.

As part of the participatory budgeting project, residents are encouraged to decide how the funds are invested, as long as projects or investments identified do not cancel or delay projects already planned or underway.

Residents will be able to vote in the fall for how they would like to see the funds invested.
