Family pet dogs chased a cougar up a tree at Matheson Lake Park Thursday evening.
A man and his family were walking in the park with their dogs, when the four-legged family members spotted the cougar around 7:45 p.m., June 27.
The male called West Shore RCMP and explained the cougar was about 100 feet from the beach near the main parking lot.
The family immediately left the area.
