Danny Halmo, a Langley, BC custom car builder, took a break from making vehicles to riding one, arriving in Victoria Thursday after a completing a trip down Vancouver Island aboard a Segway.
Halmo was attempting to set a new Guinness world record for the longest trip while riding a self balancing electric vehicle and draw attention to current restrictions on using the devices.
The trip covered about 500 kilometres.
Halmo also plans to cross Canada on a Segway in 2017 and stage a 150-Segway parade to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation.
