An elderly woman drove her SUV off a BC Ferries dock on Mayne Island, B.C. on Thursday evening and landed upside-down on some rocks. She was rescued by a local fire crew. and flown to Victoria General Hospital.
Her injuries are not life-threatening, according to the CBC.
BC Ferries’ Deborah Marshall said the driver was heading down the dock’s ramp at Village Bay terminal, trying to board, and crashed through a wooden railing.
The driver’s name has not been released and she was the only person in the vehicle. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. PST.
