A boat carrying whale watchers is dwarfed by the mega yacht Athena moored at Ship Point in Victoria's Inner Harbour.

The mega yacht Athena moored at Ship Point in Victoria's Inner Harbour was the talk of downtown Thursday.

The ship which is over 90 meters (295 feet) long and is the largest privately owned yacht in the world was built  by the Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman in 2004 for entrepreneur Jim Clark (Silicon Graphics and Netscape).

The three masted schooner took four years to build and uses fifty five winches to control the sails.

The ship can accomodate 10 guests and 18 crew members.
